OBS Studio 32 shipped this quarter with three structurally important upgrades. Multi-output is finally first-class — you can run distinct encodes to different platforms simultaneously without the multi-instance hacks that powered the workflow before. Native AV1 encoding for both AMD VCN and NVIDIA NVENC is also there. The third addition is the first meaningful UI refresh in years, with reorganized panels that don’t require muscle memory acquired over a decade to navigate.

For solo streamers, the multi-output feature is the standout — running TikTok Live (vertical) and Twitch (horizontal) simultaneously is now a checkbox configuration rather than a complex setup. The AV1 encode is meaningfully more efficient at typical streaming bitrates. The UI refresh removes the most common ‘OBS is intimidating’ complaint from new users. FragneticLab’s view: this is the single most impactful OBS release since v25, and it ships almost entirely as quality-of-life improvements.
